Macy was founded by several directors of the Minlon Group of Companies. It was established in 2000, as Macy Home Fashion, a division of Macy Sdn Bhd under the Minlon Group. In the last 11 years, Macy has grown in size, strength and stature. It is now one of the largest retailers of home furnishings in Malaysia.
Macy has made a mark as a brand that is synonymous with style, high quality and affordable prices.
As a one-stop total home furnishing centre, Macy provides a comprehensive range of furniture, accessories, fabrics and innovative services including interior consultancy, practical guidance and professional tailoring.
Today, Macy has a total of 5 showrooms in the Klang Valley - Wisma Minlon in Seri Kembangan where Macy’s flagship store is, Ikano Power Centre, IOI Mall Puchong, SACC Mall Shah Alam and USJ Taipan.
Macy opened its first curtain showroom in Seri Kembangan in the year 2000 and a year later it was incorporated as Macy Home Furnishings Sdn Bhd, an independent business entity.

In 2001, Macy opened its Curtain outlet in Taipan, Subang and this was followed by the launch of its first furniture showroom in Seri Kembangan. From specialising only in curtains, Macy has expanded its product ranges to include furniture, lightings, home accessories, wall décors, etc.
To reach its customers in Shah Alam, Macy opened a Curtain outlet there. This proved so popular that the company expanded the outlet to include furniture and home accessories in 2003.
With the opening of Ikano Power Centre in Mutiara Damansara in 2003, Macy realized the huge potential that this shopping hub in Petaling Jaya offers. To tap on this, Macy decided to spread its wings to embrace new customers in this part of the Klang Valley. Consequently, Macy became one of Ikano Power Centre’s anchor tenants and since then its brand awareness has increased manifold.

In 2005, Macy became the first home furnishing store in Malaysia to provide the Dial-A-Curtain service using a toll free number. With this Macy Dial-A-Curtain window measuring service, Macy goes to customer’s house and measures the curtains without any charges or obligation to purchase. In the same year, Macy became the proud recipient of Superbrands Malaysia 2005.

The year 2006 saw Macy expanding its flagship store in Seri Kembangan from 35,000 sf to 80,000sf. A 308-ft shopping ramp walkway was built to lead customers around the showroom which displays 1,500 pieces of furniture and over 1,000 fabric designs for customers to choose from. That same year, Macy was honored once again, this time with the Superbrands Consumer Choice 2006 award.

In 2007, Macy started a new division – Macy Bedrooms, which carries 8 international leading brands of mattresses. Macy Bedrooms has since become one of the leading players in the very competitive mattress industry. The year 2007 also witnessed Macy opening its new showroom in IOI Mall Puchong. And to add another feather in its cap, Macy was awarded the Best Brands in Retail Fabrics & Soft Furnishings by The Brand Laureate SMEs Chapter 2007.

In 2008, despite the financial crunch and economic slowdown, Macy still managed to register a 20% growth. Again in the same year, Macy won the Best Brands in Retail Fabrics & Soft Furnishings by The Brand Laureate SMEs Chapter.

Macy embarked on a heavier rebranding exercise program in 2009 which saw Macy successfully introducing its new corporate identity and values. When Macy SACC opened its doors to customers in January 2009,. the outlet embodied this new image of corporate identity and values. Also in 2009, a new division, MACSK DESIGN, which focuses on project and corporate sales, was formed. Macy Taipan was also refurbished and expanded from a one-storey showroom to a three-storey showroom that housed Macy Bedrooms, Sofa & Furniture division.

In 2010, Macy became Malaysia’s pioneer in home textile collections that use Swarovski Elements as embellishment. 2010 was also a significant year for Macy as it saw Macy celebrating its 10 Anniversary as a successful corporate entity. All this is a testament of what Macy has achieved in the field of home furnishings in the last 10 years.
